How are you testimony of the living God?
“But I have testimony greater than John’s. The works that the Father gave me to accomplish, these works that I perform testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me.” ~ Jn 5:36
Today, I would like to do a little role play with a verse in the Gospel, which is John 5:33-36.
I want to use the last verse, verse 36, as a way to role play and share how I thought about this reading. And verse 36 reads, “But I have testimony greater than John’s. The works that the father gave me to accomplish, these works that I performed testify on my behalf that the father has sent me.”
I wanted to take the statements around the works and apply them to myself in place of Jesus.
The question is: How well do you testify that you are a believer of the Catholic faith, or simply a believer in God, in Jesus’ teachings? And how?
- How are you being testimony to all those things that you claim to believe?
- What are the works that I have been called to do?
- What are the things that I’m supposed to be doing with my gifts, my talents, and all the benefits I’m getting on Earth?
- What are the things I’m supposed to be doing that will give testimony I am a son of God, and there’s a reason for me to be here with all these blessings?
I don’t have a message for this one because it’s more about exploring what does it to say aloud “these works that I perform testify the Father has sent me”?
if I was to say it, what basis would I have to be credible? The works that the father gave me to accomplish?
“These works that I perform, testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me.”
What are the works? What have you accomplished? And how are you testifying that you are son of the living God?
In peace,
